Servings: 4 burgers
For the burgers:
- 1 lb Ground beef
- 1/4 cup yellow onion minced
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 1 tsp fresh oregano chopped
- 1 tsp Fresh mint, chopped
- 1/2 tsp salt
- Freshly cracked pepper
To Serve:
- 1 head Boston bib lettuce, leaves removed
- 1 Roma tomato, sliced
- 1/2 cup feta, crumbled
- 1 green bell pepper, sliced in to quarters
- Tzatziki to serve (recipe linked below)
- Pickled red onions, to serve
- Sliced cucumber, to serve
For the burgers:
Start by grilling the green pepper. Heat your grill to medium - high (375-400 degrees).Drizzle the quarters of green pepper with olive oil and season with salt and pepper, and add to grill.
Combine all ingredients for burgers in a large bowl. Using your hands, mix thoroughly to combine. Form in to 4 patties.
Cook for 6-7 minutes if you like medium rare, and 8-9 minutes for medium - only flipping once! Always be sure to test your meat for doneness using a meat thermometer.
Remove green pepper from grill when charred, and burgers when they just come to temp. Your burgers will continue to cook when they come off the grill - so be mindful!
To serve:
Meanwhile, prep all other ingredients. Arrange toppings easily, so guests are able to assemble their own burger.
Top lettuce leaf with tzatziki, followed by a slice of pepper, then the burger, then any toppings your heart desires!
