Spicy Steamed Broccoli

Ingredients

  • 1 large head broccoli, about 4 cups total
  • Splash Aminos, or other soy or soy-substitute
  • 1 clove garlic, sliced
  • Sesame Oil, for drizzling
  • 2 tsp mixture of white and black sesame seeds
  • Sriracha, for serving

Instructions

  • Add water to the bottom of a medium sauce or saute pan (that fits a steamer basket). No need to add too much, about 1/4 inch up the side of your pan is plenty. Add a splash of Aminos and the thinly sliced garlic clove. Add steamer basket.
  • Wash broccoli and remove small florets from the stalk. Reserve stalks for another use (I like peeling them and snacking on with my favorite dip). Add broccoli florets to steamer basket, steaming for about 5 minutes. Check for desired doneness, steaming for additional time if needed.
  • Transfer broccoli to a platter and drizzle lightly with sesame oil. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and add Sriracha to your liking!
