These Chicken Meatballs with Zhug are so flavorful and delicious. Zhug is a herby and spicy Yemini sauce, offering zippy flavor to tender chicken meatballs.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground chicken
  • 1/3 cup yellow onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp cumin
  • 1 recipe Zhug, recipe linked below

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  • In a large bowl, combine chicken, onion, garlic, and spices. Use your hands to combine the mixture.
  • Using a small cookie scoop or spoon, scoop mixture and form mini meatballs. Place on a parchment lined baking sheet and bake for 15 minutes, or until cooked through.
  • Add Zhug to a large bowl. Add cooled meatballs, tossing to combine. You can opt to serve them warm if you prefer, though they're delicious served chilled as well!
