Equipment

  • 6 Eight ounce wide mouth Mason jars

Ingredients

For the berry mixture

  • 2 cups strawberries , hulled and cut into bite sized pieces
  • 2 cups raspberries
  • 2 tsp lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup pure maple syrup
  • 1 tsp cinnamon

For the oatmeal crumble topping

  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup oats
  • 1 cup butter, chilled and cut into cubes
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Combine all the ingredients for the berry mixture in a large bowl, tossing to combine.
  • Transfer mixture to six 8 ounce, wide mouth mason jars.
  • Combine all ingredients for the oatmeal crumble topping in a food processor, and pulse until crumbly and combined.
  • Spoon oatmeal mixture on top of jars with berry mixture. Bake for 20 - 25 minutes until berries are bubbling and cooked through, and oatmeal topping is browned.
  • If traveling with these, allow to cool slightly before securing lids. These may be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days - reheat before serving (or they're great at room temperature!).

Notes

  • Feel free to swap in your favorite seasonal fruit! You'll need 4 cups total of any fruit combination. Rhubarb, apple, cranberry, or pear would all be wonderful additions depending on the season!
  • Make this for a crowd by baking in a 8X8 pan. Baking time may need to be increased by 10 minutes.
