What's In An Americano Cocktail?

Campari is an Italian liqueur, distinguishable by it’s bright orange-red color. It gets its unique flavor from fruit and herbs and is particularly bitter.

It’s well known as it’s a key ingredients in two well known cocktails: the Negroni and the Americano. Each are made similarly, with the Negroni including equal parts of Sweet Vermouth, Campari, and Gin. The Americano, on the other hand, is equal parts Sweet Vermouth and Campari, with an optional splash of soda.

What Does It Taste Like?

As previously mentioned, Campari is distinctively bitter. That said, it may not please every palate. However, it makes an excellent palate-preparing aperitif. Apertifs are beverages that stimulate the appetite, readying you for a big meal.

Thanksgiving, anyone?!
