The Perfect High Protein Dip!
Who doesn’t love Ranch dressing? It seems to be “America’s Dip”, with lovers using it as a dip for everything from carrot sticks to pizza. While a pre-packaged version brings convenience, it also includes a myriad of ingredients that might be difficult to pronounce. So….what not make it yourself?
And while we’re at it, why not make it super creamy and full of protein?! Enter, cottage cheese. Whipped cottage cheese, at that! This dip takes next to not time to make (about as long as it takes to measure a few ingredients and blend for about 1 minute). Read on to learn more about this delicious high protein Ranch dip!
How To Make High Protein Ranch Dip
This dip is sinfully simple to make. A handful of measured spices, a container of cottage cheese, and a high powered blender or food processor are all you’ll need!
The Ingredients
- Cottage cheese
- Dried parsley
- Dried chives
- Onion powder
- Garlic Powder
- Dried dill
- Salt
- Pepper
- Aleppo pepper
The Process
- Add all ingredients to a food processor or high-powered blender.
- Blend on high, scraping down the sides with a spatula as you go. Blend until the mixture is completely smooth: this took me less than 1 minute with my food processor!
- If you prefer your dip a little thinner, add buttermilk or milk in tablespoon increments until your desired consistency is met.
- Serve with fresh veggies and crackers. Dip can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
Ways To Make High Protein Dip Your Own
While the spices in this dip are those that are reminiscent of Ranch, you can add whatever spices you like to make this dip your very own! Here are a few tasty ideas!
- Dried or fresh dill + pickle brine + chopped pickles
- Chives + garlic + garic powder
- Cumin + chili powder + pickled jalapenos
- Sundried tomatoes + fresh basil + drizzle of olive oil
What To Serve With High Protein Ranch Dip
This recipe yields a true dip: it’s thicker than your standard Ranch dressing. You can opt to thin it out with a little water or buttermilk if you’d like to use it as a proper salad dressing (yum!).
Otherwise, I like serving this tasty dip with a variety of crunchy vegetables, crackers, pita chips, and pretzels. It’s so versatile…you can really dip just about anything in it!
Tools To Make This Dip
- High Powered Blender or Food Processor (an Immersion Blender would work, too!)
- Measuring Spoons
- Serving Bowl
- Serving Board
