Irish Coffee with Baileys Whipped Cream – what get’s more festive than that?! An indulgent start to your St. Patrick’s Day festivities. Jameson Irish Whiskey is combined with brown sugar and fresh brewed hot coffee (the traditional way!), and topped with fresh Baileys Whipped Cream. A festive cocktail to warm you inside and out!
Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
I happen to be Irish, though admittedly, not much.
But isn’t everyone Irish on St. Patrick’s Day?! I think so.
This Irish coffee with Baileys Whipped Cream is the perfect way to start your festivities. It’s boozy, warm, and so delicious.
Irish coffee is traditionally made with hot, strong coffee, sugar cubes, Irish Whiskey, and whipped cream. My version is slightly altered, using brown sugar in place of the standard white sugar cube (I think it gives the drink more depth), along with a Baileys spiked whipped cream.
Because there’s always a way to make something just a little more boozy.
Whether you’re enjoying this beverage first thing when you wake up (no judgement!), or as a pick me up throughout your St. Patty’s Day – I know you’ll enjoy the warmth the drink provides.
I know I do!
Irish Coffee with Baileys Whipped Cream
Ingredients
For the Irish Coffee:
- 1 tsp brown sugar
- 2 oz Jameson Irish Whiskey
- 10 oz dark roast coffee
For the Baileys Whipped Cream:
- 1/2 cup whipping cream
- 1 Tbsp Baileys Irish Cream
- cocoa powder for garnish
Instructions
For the Irish Coffee:
- In the bottom of two mugs, split the brown sugar (1/2 teaspoon per mug). Pour 1 ounce of Jameson in to each mug, and top with 5 ounces of hot coffee in each.
For the Baileys Whipped Cream:
- Pour whipping cream and Baileys in to a medium bowl. With a handheld mixer, whip until stiff peaks form. When you put the whipped cream in the coffee, it will loosen - so be sure you whip it until it's stiff!
- Spoon Baileys whipped cream in to each mug of Irish coffee, and sprinkle with cocoa powder.
Just popping by to Pin this recipe so I can enjoy it on one of the (hopefully) few chilly weekends we have yet to come here in Minnesota! Cheers!
YES! There’s nothing better than a warm cocktail on a chilly day. Enjoy, Michele!
