Chicken Wings For The Holidays

Growing up, Christmas was always at the farm. My Grandpa inherited the farm and surrounding acreage from his Dad, who inherited it from his wife’s Father, who built it for…you get the picture. It wa s beautiful farmhouse in the central Minnesota, and as charming and quaint as you’d expect.

One thing that I always looked forward to at the farm was the scene that hit you right when you walked through the door. It was an aroma that permeated every single corner of each room. It was savory, sweet, and induced instant salivation.

Ever since the holiday gatherings ceased at the farm, these wings have stuck around as a part of my family’s holiday tradition.

How To Make Polynesian Chicken Wings

These chicken wings get their Polynesian flair by way of pineapple juice. When mixed with soy sauce, the flavor absolutely soars, and is given an additional kick over the edge with ground ginger and garlic powder. It’s incredible what so few ingredients can do!

These chicken wings are delicious slowly baked. The recipe below calls for cooking them for 60 minutes at 350 degrees, but my family has been known to cook them nice and slow: 3 hours at 250 degrees. Try this method if you have rock solid willpower: the smell from the kitchen may make you abandon your slow cooking plans in order to eat the source of the mouthwatering aroma.

    1. Hi Danielle! I don’t have an air fryer myself, but would bet money these would be fantastic in one! I would follow whatever instructions are provided for any bone-in chicken. Enjoy!
