The Death by Blackberry is the perfect Halloween cocktail! Tart blackberry, sweet pomegranate juice, rum, and blackberry liqueur. Spooky and deliciously festive, this eery drink recipe is one to impress!
Happy Halloween!
By far one of my favorite holidays. Growing up, my household was filled with ghoulish delights this time of year.
- Time worn, hand stitched pumpkins strewn as decoration across the house.
- Cobwebs gracing most surfaces …even in the bathroom.
- Weeks of planning put in to costume thought, design, and execution.
- And an electronic witch whose cackle still haunts me to this day.
All this to illustrate the fact that Halloween was not taken lightly in my house growing up. And that love for the frightful holiday has only festered over the years…
- Today, I adorn my own home with pumpkin decor.
- Cobwebs somehow find their way in to the darkest corners of every room.
- Costume planning has turned in to character planning, with meticulous thought and preparation going on to how I “become” a different person or thing.
- And while I don’t have that electronic witch to creep me out…I make up for it by way of scary and creep-tactic movies, TV shows, books, podcasts, and books.
Clearly, my obsession with this holiday isn’t going away anytime soon… albeit ever.
So it’s vey natural that my palate starts craving things a little more sinister this time of year.
Enter: Death by Blackberry.
This cocktail is boozy, sweet, and gorgeous. Here are the stats:
- Red Rum (or dark rum will do….)
- Pomegranate Juice
- Blackberry Liqueur
- Lemon Juice
- Angostura
And a little soda to cur through the sweetness.
You’ll grip this sipper in fear of someone taking it from you.
(Ok, ok. I know I’m toeing the line of “over doing it”. But work with me, will ya?)
This cocktail packs a sweet punch – so heed my warning. You’re welcome to reduce the amount of pomegranate juice of blackberry liquor if you’re so inclined.
So, will you try this eerily delicious cocktail on All Hallow’s Eve? It could be the very last thing you do.
