A favorite go-to snack when told, “Just bring an app!” Creamy, garlicky hummus serves as the base for this addictive dip. Quinoa tabbouleh packs the flavor punch, with parsley, mint, tomato, green onion, and rich olive oil. Equally delicious scooped with pita chips, veggies, or a spoon.
Let me guess. You’re sick of bringing the same old appetizer that everyone expects you to bring.
“Great. Jamie’s here with veggies and dip again”.
“Oh….you brought chips and salsa . So did 3 other people.”
“Cheese balls. How….retro?”
You know what I’m talking about. Get togethers are fun because of the people you’re spending time with, of course. Well, that and the drinks. I mean, come on.
But for me and my friends, food is an integral part of our gatherings. There tends to be quite a bit of planning that goes in to the menu, now that I think of it. Text strings to determine who is in charge of what, because heaven forbid we had two of the same thing (this has never happened). Pinterest perusing, because inspiration. Email chains confirming that person X is FOR SURE bringing Sangria.
But….sometimes, convenience gets in the way. A girl’s night falls on a Tuesday, and no one has time to prep anything. So….chips and salsa, veggies and dip, boxed wine (don’t knock it til’ you try it), and some sort of salad are all regularly on the menu. Not that this is a problem, but wouldn’t you rather your guests or fellow party-goers FAWN over your appetizer that you brought? RAVE about how unexpected, flavorful, delicious, or amazing your dish is?
Yyyyyyeeeeeeaaaa. That’s what I thought.
Reader, meet Greek Dip. Greek Dip, meet reader. You both are about to be great friends.
First off: simplicity. This “recipe” is literally two of my previously posted recipes, smashed in to one. My Favorite Hummus recipe serves as the base, while Quiona Tabbouleh is spread over the top. Voila! Magically delicious.
Wait. I think that’s the slogan for Lucky Charms.
Who am I?
Let’s move on.
For reals though you guys. You should make this for your next get together! Make the hummus to snack on, the Quinoa Tabbouleh for lunch, and then just like that: you’ll have practically made this dip (some assembly required).
ENJOY!!!!
