Salted Maple Almond Chai
If you’re looking for the liquid equivalent of the warmest, most affectionate, softest-chunky-cable-knit-sweater-embrace….look no further.
This is it.
This latte may as well be called, “The Fluffy Sweater”, and now that I typed that out…I might be going back to change the title. This toasty little number includes the enveloping flavors of sweet maple, spicy chai, and familiar almond. You likely didn’t know your latte was missing salt…but it is!
Just a sprinkle will do. That’s all you need to take the flavor of this already unbelievable sipper to the next level.
Make This Cozy Drink Your Own
There are so many ways to make this Salted Maple Almond Chai your own:
- Too creamy for your liking? Steep the tea with water, then adjust the creaminess by adding in as much (or as little) almond milk as you like.
- Almond milk not your thing? Any milk will do! Skim, whole, hazelnut, or coconut milk would be wonderful substitutions.
- Need all the caffeine? Add a shot of espresso for a Dirty Chai!
- Chai ‘a little much’ for you? Swap it out for your favorite tea!
However you make it, be sure to slow down, sip easy, and unwind. Happy Fall!
Salted Maple Almond Chai
Ingredients
- 1 cup almond milk
- 1-2 tsp pure maple syrup
- 1 drop maple extract
- 1 bag chai tea
- Flaky sea salt
- Freshly grated nutmeg, black pepper, cinnamon, or cardamom
Instructions
- In a small saucepan, combine almond milk, maple syrup, and maple extract, bringing to a low simmer. Remove from heat, add tea bag, and allow to steep for at least 5 minutes or up to 10, depending on how strong you want the chai tea flavor.
- Remove tea bag. Using a milk frother or hand whisk, froth the chai mixture until foamy. Pour in to mug, top with freshly grated nutmeg, black pepper, cinnamon, or cardamom, and a small sprinkle of flaky sea salt.
