Festive, spicy, and effervescent, this Spiced & Sparkling Whiskey Cider is the cocktail to try this holiday season! Make a single or a big batch to serve guests.
Spiced & Sparkling Whiskey Cider
I’ve never heard a more festive collection of words strung together. Have you?!
This cocktail is a holiday keeper, for sure. It might just become a new tradition, if I do say so myself!
While gatherings may look a bit different this year, that doesn’t mean we can’t still enjoy our time with family and friends safely. Perhaps your holiday get togethers will be smaller this year, like mine will. I’m planning on making a big batch of this cocktail base, allowing those interested to pour their own and top it off with sparkling apple cider. Distant and safe, but still delicious!
What's In A Spiced & Sparkling Whiskey Cider
This spicy warmth that this cocktail offers comes from both Rye whiskey and fresh ginger, each offering their own distinct flavors. Additionally, they’re combined with whole cloves for another layer of spice, juicy fresh orange, and bubbly sparkling apple cider.
How To Make A Spiced & Sparkling Whiskey Cider
In a cocktail shaker, combine the following:
- Whole cloves
- Orange slices
- Fresh ginger
Using a muddler, you’ll gently muddle the ingredients until the orange’s juice is release and the cloves are lightly crushed. Next you’ll add the rye whiskey, followed by ice. Shake vigorously until it’s combined. Typically I like to shake for at least 15 seconds, or else until the shaker gets almost too cold to handle.
Next you’ll strain it in to your glass, followed by the sparkling apple cider. Add ice, and garnish!
