Although the Dog Days of Summer signify the steady slide in to cooler temps, changing colors, and cozier clothing, it doesn’t mean we need to forgo original plans to enjoy every last drop of summertime.
I’ve rounded up ideas to check off your Summer Bucket List, some of which are things I personally have already checked off, others I’m still working on! I hope this collection of ideas inspires you to get out there and soak up all the goodness summer has to offer.
.Go on a nature hike.
.Take a day trip someplace you’ve always wanted to go.
.Make a summer playlist with some current and classic beachy tunes: OAR, Beach Boys, Trevor Hall, Jimmy Buffet, and Bob Marley.
.Get on the water! Rent, borrow, or purchase a kayak, canoe, or standup paddle board.
.Make your own ice cream. Try out my No Churn Amaretto Ice Cream with Mixed Berry Swirl for a simple, unfussy, and undeniably delicious cool treat.
.Plan out a day long bike ride with stops along the way.
8. Try something new such as watercolor, gardening, or woodworking.
.Watch the sunrise!
.Learn the language of a place you’ve always wanted to go.
.Go to the drive in.
.Run through the sprinkler!
.Do a cannon ball.
.Learn about the night sky.
.Grow something!
.Catch a full moon
.Plan an impromptu picnic (image of water colored invite)-meet me under the big maple tree in the park! Saturday. 3:00 with wine
.Go to the farmers market
.Do a wine tasting: Rosé from different regions
.Go camping!
.Get the fair, without going.
.Catch a fish
.Enjoy a root beer float.
.Make a peach (or any fruit!) pie.
.Upgrade a piece of clothing: give tie-dying a try!
.Set a wellness goal, such as walking 5 days a week, running 30 miles in 30 days, or stretching every single day.
.Conduct a treasure hunt: find mementos that will remind you of warm summer days.
.Pick fresh flowers.
.Cook an entire meal outside.
.Hike at a state park.
.Read a new (or classic!) book. On my list: White Fragility, A Midsummer’s Night Dream, Give A Girl A Knife.
.Hit up a brewery! So many have safety precautions in place to accommodate for order pick up, so you can still enjoy your favorites outside the taproom. Consider a Brewery run with the Brewery Running Series! Events are available in 17 states and are so much fun!
And lastly…
Give yourself some grace. You won’t fit it all in. That’s ok! We’re all going through an incredible time. Relax, and take time to find joy in the little things.
