These Chicken Meatballs with Zhug are so flavorful and delicious. Zhug is a herby and spicy Yemini sauce, offering zippy flavor to tender chicken meatballs.
Chicken Meatballs with Zhug
Skewered food just seems to scream, well…a few things:
- Let’s party!
- It’s game day!
- I’ll take 10!
Ah yes…skewered food is one way to eat food mindlessly, but that will hardly be the case with these mouthwatering chicken meatballs. The real star here though? The zhug.
What Is Zhug?
There are few things out there that carry as much of a flavor punch as zhug does. It’s zippy, spicy, and bright, offering the perfect mouth puckering punch. It’s a Yemeni hot sauce, which is similar to an Argentinian chimmichurri.
This recipe can serve as a starting point. Feel free to add more or less spice, swap out the cilantro if that isn’t your thing, or try a mixture of citrus juice. However you make it, one thing is certain: there isn’t much out there that can beat its flavor!
