Cold Brew at your fingertips, in your refrigerator, at all hours of the day?! Yes, yes, and yes. Your new favorite iced summer beverage recipe is right here, and it couldn’t be simpler!
CABIN. BOUND.
I’ve never heard more glorious words. I have been looking forward to getting “up to the cabin” (a normal thing in MN, where most everyone has – or knows someone who has – a cabin) for longer than I care to mention. For most, this means on average a two hour drive. My drive to cabin, sweet cabin?
Which honestly sounds a tad worse than it actually is. Great tunes, the A-Z game (a road trip classic), a stop at the Motley Fish market, recipe development (ahem, scribbles), and the gradual shift in scenery from concrete to dirt roads. It’s REALLY not THAT bad, ok? I promise!
(Do you sense the desperate self pep-talk?)
I can tell you one thing. I’ll be MORE than excited (not to mention – highly caffeinated) for today’s drive with the help of this incredible Cold Brew Coffee.
Hellllllllllo my pretty! Look at that cascade of delicious coconut milk.
What makes me love this recipe is its ease.
- Pour ground coffee into large container or stock pot, and cover with water.
- Let sit at least 8 hours (the most difficult part).
- Strain coffee.
- Refrigerate (second most difficult part).
- Pour over ice, add in favorite sweetener and choice of milk/cream (most easy, delicious, un-difficult, and beautiful part).
The other reason I love this recipe so much is because it’s from one of my all-time favorite bloggers, The Pioneer Woman! Ree, you have my heart.
So, I’ll be north bound enjoying this incredible Cold Brew. How will you it enjoy it this weekend? I’d love to know!
Cheers to summer!
Cold Brew Coffee
Ingredients
- 10 Oz Coffee beans, roughly ground (see note)
- 10 cups Cold water
Instructions
- Place ground coffee in large container or stockpot. Cover with 10 cups cold water. Stir to ensure all coffee grounds are saturated. Allow to sit in refrigerator for at least 12 hours.
- Line a fine mesh sieve with cheese cloth, and place over a pitcher or other large container. Slowly pour coffee of sieve, stopping sporadically to allow coffee to drain.
- Once completely strained, place in refrigerator to chill (although, you could technically pour over ice and enjoy immediately if you simply can't wait).
- Once chilled and ready, fill glass with ice. Add 1/2 cup cold brew and 1/2 cup water. You can choose your own ratio, but the cold brew will be strong! Add desired milk, cream, or sweetener, add straw, and ennnnnnjoy!
