Haaaaaapppyyy New Year!!!!

Oh wait. I’m two weeks late? Well isn’t it STILL a new year?

Aren’t you STILL making healthy choices and going to the gym like 5 times a week?

Reading more books?

Calling your mom more?

Yea. That’s what I thought. Happy Freakin’ New Year!

While I’m at it, I might as well wish you a happy-all-the-other-things I missed.

  • Happy Fall.
  • Happy Halloween!
  • Happy Election Day.
  • Happy Birthday to ME! (You celebrated my birthday, right?)
  • Happy Thanksgiving. Merry Christmas. Happy Kwanza. Happy Hanukkah.
Ok, ok. Point made.

I’ve clearly taken a short little hiatus, but the truth is I missed you so much. I had good reason, too-I swear!

  • I went on his life changing trip to Iceland for my birthday which was UNREAL.
  • Said birthday was a BIG ONE, so that basically meant I ate cake and drank champagne for breakfast, lunch, and dinner all month.
  • I bought a HOUSE (like, a real adult house with an ice maker and a backyard and levels and a master closet). Literally all my spare time has been dedicated to choosing paint colors, buying furniture, changing my mind 15,729 times on every decision I make, building stuff, and twitching every time I look at my God awful light fixtures (next on the list!). Oh, and eating pizza. Like, a lot of Papa Murphy’s, you guys (not exactly blog worthy).

Do you see? I just had a lot on my plate.

“Oh, like a lot of Papa Murphy’s pizza, Jamie?!

I guess I walked in to that.

But enough about me and my dramatic rehashing of my past few months! Let’s talk about YOU.

Is this your year? Did you make #goals this year? Resolutions? Intentions?

Then GO YOU! I get a little irked when people say, “I actually don’t set resolutions” (insert hair flip here).

Ohhhh you dooooon’t??? Congratulations. You did it. You are a perfect human specimen that needs not change, improve, or better ANYTHING IN YOUR LIFE.

(You totally missed my brazen antics, didn’t you).

I love the “fresh start” feeling that a new year brings. I love setting intentions and re-centering myself come Jan 1. Sure,  I totally still agree with the concept of, “no better time than the present”, but there’s something magical about that “reset” frame of mind. Ya feel?

And while we’re talking about resetting, can we talk about this APPLESAUCE SWEETENED TAHINI YOU GUYS?! So. Absolutely. Amazing.

My gym (Alchemy, for those in MPLS) has this 4 week program of clean eating, workouts, and lectures about wellness that I’m doing. It’s pretty legitty so be prepared to see lots of fresh and healthy recipes comin’ in hot.

Or cold. Or frozen.

None the less, maybe I’ll be able to inspire you to set that goal for 2017 that you”never got around to”. Ya filthy animal.
