They’re packed with delicious ingredients like wheat germ, honey, and brown sugar. Suffice to say…they’re better than the store bought versions (in my humble opinion!).

Add them to a Build Your Own S’mores Platter, or enjoy them on their own. Either way, you’re going to love them!

Homemade Graham Crackers

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1/4 cup wheat germ
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter room temp
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 Tbsp honey
  • 1 egg

Instructions

  • In a medium bowl combine flours, wheat germ, cinnamon, baking powder and soda, and salt.
  • In a separate bowl, use a hand mixer to thoroughly combine butter, brown sugar, and honey. Add egg, mixing to combine.
  • Add dry ingredients to wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Dough will be slightly sticky.
  • Divide dough in to four. On a sheet of parchment that has been coated with flour, add 1/4 of the dough. Sprinkle with more flour to prevent sticking. Place another piece of parchment paper on dough, and roll out using a rolling pin to about 1/4-1/8 inch thick. Repeat with other dough balls. Stack on a baking sheet and freeze for 20 minutes.
  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Remove dough, and using a fluted pastry wheel (or pizza cutter!) cut dough in to desired shape. I like cutting them to resemble store bought graham crackers, which are broken in two. You can also use your favorite cokie cutter as well.
  • Transfer to a parchment lined baking sheet, and cook for a total of 9 minutes, rotating half way through to ensure even baking.
  • Transfer to a wire cooling rack and allow to cool compeltely before serving, which allows them to crisp up a little more.
