The Hot Buttered Rum is a classic holiday cocktail. Smooth, spicy, and rich, these warm winter drinks are the perfect treat.
Holiday Cheer
Growing up, Hot Buttered Rums were a sign of the holiday season. Of course, however, as kids we enjoyed a Hot Buttered “Yum”, which was just as delicious, but without the alcohol. The mixture keeps in the freezer, meaning you can have a warm and cozy cocktail (or mocktail!) in minutes.
How To Make A Hot Buttered Rum
I’ll be the first to admit that this Hot Buttered Rum mixture is FAR from healthy. The ingredients may make you either laugh nervously or think, “Nope!”, but I promise this delicious beverage is worth it. And keep in mind that you’re only using a tiny spoonful for each drink!
The base includes ice cream, butter, both white AND brown sugar, and warming spices. Stick with me here! All the ingredients are mixed together and stored in the freezer. When you’re ready to enjoy a warm and spicy sipper with a kick, you place a spoonful of the mixture in to a glass of hot water, top off with rum, and you’ll be in hygge heaven in no time!
