Reflecting on 2020

Seeking Joy In 2020

In a year that has left us battle-worn, emotional, and exhausted in so many ways: why not dedicate the last month of this year to reflection.

On the positive interactions we’ve had with friends and strangers alike.

The side-splitting moments of uncontrollable laughter.

On the days that seemed like the sun would never set.

The times we felt something changing in ourselves.

On the moments that, no matter how impossibly challenging they seemed at the time, left us better, stronger, smarter, wiser, and more compassionate.

While this was a year unlike any other, there truly is good to be found, celebrated, and cherished. This certainly is not to discount the significant weight that our reality carries.

Collectively, our eyes have been opened to so much hatred – blind or realized – naiveté, and to just how far people will go for power. We’ve endured a global medical crisis, perhaps losing a loved one in the process. It’s enough to make anyone sick.

It’s difficult to navigate the day-to-day without being bombarded with another happening that’s difficult to process, which is why I implore you to shift your mindset this month and focus on the joyful moments that you’ll remember from 2020.

I’ve created this simple tool for you to use as you reflect on all that 2020 was. I hope this reminds you of those special little moments that took your breath away.
