These party pleasing Melon Caprese Skewers are everything you want in an appetizer: salty, sweet, fresh, and simple. Bocconcini, fresh and juicy melon, and peppery basil. These skewers are perfect for a picnic or backyard BBQ!
All hail CAPRESE!
And newsflash: it’s not just for summer.
These little appy skewers are a perfect light bite before a big meal (ahem….Thanksgiving dinner), or a fresh addition to a “heavy” appetizer spread (a la the gooey-baked-cheesy-delicious-spreadable-something everyone brings).
Melon stands in for tomato in this fresh take on an old favorite. You’ll be surprised how much you don’t even miss the tomato!
The melon makes these bites a tad sweet, so savory-them-up with a healthy drizzle of olive oil, freshly cracked pepper, and a sprinkle of Maldon.
The balsamic drizzle is optional, but highly encouraged. Especially if you’re making these more on the savory side (per my note above). The balsamic adds a tart sweetness that makes all well in the world.
Bring these to Thanksgiving, your holiday party, or for a night in with friends. They’re bound to be a hit.
