My Favorite Hummus Recipe

My very favorite go-to hummus recipe. I like to layer on additional flavors, but this is the recipe in its purest form! Be sure to say that aquafaba – the liquid in the can of garbanzo beans. It thins out this dip, allowing you to choose its consistency.

I love a good hummus.

I mean I really, really love hummus.

What’s not to love? A flavor packed, filling, and healthy snack. The flavor combinations are endless, really. Which I’ll get to eventually (trust me…I have a stockpile of hummus recipes), but for today, I want to share my go-to purist version.

The core ingredients of the traditional dip don’t need much to taste delicious. Some garlic, a squeeze of lemon juice, and voila! Perfection.

I love having hummus on hand all the times. The best part of making it yourself (aside from it being so easy), is that people like, lose their minds when you tell them it’s homemade. “You MADE this?!”

Why yes, yes I did.

Also, you can choose your texture. Blend until just combined for a thicker, chunkier version. Or blend the day lights out if it for an über smooth, whipped texture.

You can pretty much dip anything in to a bowl of hummus. Crudités, puta chips, pretzels, fingers….

Maybe just take that bowl now and enjoy it by yourself, thanks.

We’ll revisit this recipe a NUMBER of times, so get used to it. I like to use this recipe as my “base” and layer on different flavors. As mentioned – stay tuned for more!
