Boosting Your Milk Supply, The Delicious Way

Lactation bite recipes are a dime a dozen on the internet, and for good reason. These handheld snacks are protein packed and filled with ingredients that keep you satiated AND support healthy milk production. For breastfeeding mamas, having something fast, nutrient and calorie dense, that you’re able to eat with one hand is ideal. I made a ton of these as we’re preparing for the arrival of our first baby, and I know my future self will be grateful I stocked the freezer with these delicious bites!

What Is Brewer’s Yeast?

Brewer’s yeast is a dietary supplement rich in B vitamins, iron, protein, and selenium, with research showing that it may support milk production. I say, “why not?”, and plan to add the ingredient to smoothies, muffins, cookies, and of course these lactation bites. My hope is that breastfeeding comes easy for me, my body, and baby, but who knows! I’ve read and heard many positive testimonials of using brewer’s yeast, convincing me that I want to try it out myself. This is the version I’ve been using!

If you’re unsure about using brewer’s yeast to support lactation, or if you simply are not in need of lactation support, no problem! You can omit the ingredient altogether, and these delicious bites will still be a great snack.
