Pumpkin Spice Latte
The drink that signifies fall’s arrival: the Pumpkin Spice Latte! Warm and spicy flavors are combined with espresso and warm milk resulting in your favorite cool weather beverage.
- Warm spices
- Warmed milk of your choice
- Espresso or strongly brewed coffee
How To Make A PSL
The "Spice"
Though reaching for an actual pumpkin spice blend is absolutely ok, it’ll be fresher and more flavorful if you make your own! Pumpkin spice includes cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and clove.
Choose Your Base
Whether it’s almond milk, coconut milk, nonfat milk, or whole, you’ll need your favorite creamy base to yield delicious results. I like using almond milk in this recipe.
The Milk Method
- Use a milk frother! This is a great option if you’re looking to drink lattes a lot and want to purchase a frother on its own.
- Use a handheld frother – my favorite method! This handy little tool is far less of an investment, although it’s payout far surpasses the low price point. With the click of a button, you can instantly froth the creamy base for your lattes!
- Whisk it! Arguably the most manual and labor intensive option, using a handheld whisk can be a simple solution.
- Blend it! Blending a hot or warm liquid will aerate it, adding air and volume.
Time For Caffeine
You can opt for either a shot of espresso (the traditional recipe for a latte), or else strongly brewed coffee makes a fine alternative! I have a Nespresso machine which I absolutely LOVE, so espresso is readily available in my kitchen.
