Summer in a glass! Refreshingly tart, this gem-hued Summertime Sangria is sparkly, fruity, and fun. Sauvignon Blanc tends to be perfect for this recipe, but use your favorite white wine. Best served ice cold, in the sunshine.
Summa, summa, summa tiiiiime…..
DJ Jazzy Jeff? Fresh Prince? Anyone?
If only you could hear me singing right now. Maybe I’ll make a vlog so you can hear my beautiful rapping rendition of the very popular hit from 1991! What do you think?!
Um, how about no.
I know, I’m a mind reader. It’s a particularly fun trait to have. But, let’s talk about summer, yea?
Summer is lovely. In every possible way. The sunshine, the warmth, the afternoons lazily fading in to evening, the fireflies, the cool boozy ass drinks….Ok, maybe that last one is a little out of place, but that doesn’t make it any less true.
Enter, Summertime Sangria.
I like to consider myself a sangria super fan. I really haven’t met a sangria I haven’t liked. What’s not to like?
Wine.
Booze.
Fruit, which inevitably becomes boozy.
I mean, come on!
Put out wine at a party? “Sure, I’ll have a glass. What kind of red do you have?”
Put out beer at a party, “Sure, I’ll have whatever’s cold”.
But put SANGRIA out at a party, and it’s like people think you’re Ina freaking Garten, and grew the citrus that made the liquer that’s marinating more citrus and berries that you also foraged out of your hand-built garden bed.
Which, as a matter of fact, I actually DID do all of that. I mean, how is easy that?

Sauvignon Blanc is always my go-to for white sangria, and I urge you to try it as well. While brandy is the traditional liquer used in sangria recipes, I opted for a lighter and more refreshing option here. Ginger liquer is delicate yet spicy, which is the perfect kick.
Toast the days of summer with this crisp, cool, and undeniably delicious sangria.
Springtime Sangria
Ingredients
For the boozy marinated fruit:

- 2 cups ginger liqueur
For the sangria:
- 1 botte Sauvignon Blanc
- Sliced grapefruit wedges, for serving
Instructions
For the boozy marinated fruit:
- Add fruit to a container with a lid. Cover with ginger liqueur, allowing to marinate in refrigerator for at least 1 hour, but up to overnight. If marinating longer than 1 hour, place in refrigerator.
For the sangria:
- Scoop marinated fruit in to a glass pitcher. Add 1/2 cup of the reserved ginger liqueur, reserving remainder for other cocktails (or adding it all?!).
- Top with chilled Sauvignon Blanc, stirring to combine.
- Pour in to glasses, garnishing with grapefruit wedge.
