Watermelon surprisingly takes on a much more savory flavor profile here, thanks to that classic Caprese ingredients.
Maybe it’s just brain-trickery, and the watermelon still tastes sweet. We can’t be sure.

Watermelon Caprese Salad
Ingredients
- 1/2 to whole small mini seedless watermelon (about 6 cups)
- 4 medium ripe tomatoes
- 12 oz burrata
- 1 Tbsp olive oil
- 2 Tbsp fresh basil chiffonade
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Remove rind from watermelon, slice in to 1/2 inch thick slices. Slice tomatoes at similar thickness.
- Arrange tomatoes and watermelon on platter. Tear burrata n to pieces, top watermelon and tomatoes.
- Drizzle salad with watermelon, add salt and pepper to taste, and top with fresh basil.
- Enjoy!
