Mocktails For All

If you’re anything like me, your daily water intake is a top priority. Staying hydrated is critical (for many reasons, of course), and something I’m dedicated to. But. I’ll be the first to admit that drinking good ole’ water can be boring sometimes. And yes, even when I add lemon, cucumber, or other fun things to “jazz it up”. Sometimes, a chilled glass of water simply isn’t what ‘m craving. Especially when it’s hot day, you’re relaxing in your backyard, and you don’t/don’t want to/can’t drink alcohol (I’ll admit I love a good chilled rosé). That said, why not take thing just a little fancy with a delicious mocktail.

Ingredients For A Delicious Mocktail

For me, there are a few things that make a mocktail great:
  1. Citrus Juice: Any type will do! You can use the standard lemon, lime, orange, or grapefruit, or get fancy with pomelo, blood orange, key lime, or tangerine.
  2. Simple Syrup: A inch to make, and adding just the right amount of sweetness, I love adding simple syrups to all sorts of drinks. You can make up your own flavor combination using berries, herbs, aromatics, and spices.
  3. Bubbles: Any form of sparkling will do! Plain or flavored soda waters work wonderfully, and there are so many flavors to consider these days. Add your favorite or try something new!

Feeling Fresh

I originally made this scrumptious summer sipper for Club Date Night, which my friends over at Maven Styling hosted last month. For weeks, they hosted a date night for you and your sweetie so you didn’t have to stop “dating each other” in quarantine. How cute! Every week subscribers were sent cocktail/mocktail recipes, a playlist, and a fun game or activity to do together. They also offered discounts to local restaurants and dessert spots to round out date night in. While they’ve stopped hosting these weekly date nights, that’s no reason to not plan a little date night in yourself:
  1. Make this mocktail for your sweetheart
  2. Look up a fun card game, make a summer bucket list, play your favorite records…you choose the fun!
  3. Make a scrumptious supper for just you two. A few date night worthy recipes include Linguine with Morels, Zucchini, Summer Corn, & Goat Cheese, Caprese Pasta with Italian Chicken Meatballs, Cornmeal Crusted Scallops with Mint Chimichurri , or Engagement Roast Chicken.
