How To Make Loaded Pizza Dip

This pizza dip features 5 mouthwatering layers:

  1. The cheese layer: cream cheese and greek yogurt are mixed with Italian herbs making a creamy base that’s easily scoopable.
  2. Vegetables and such: I like to saute green peppers and onions (a very American classic combination for pizza toppings), along with sliced black olives.
  3. Pizza sauce: You can’t go wrong with a rich tomato sauce! Grab your favorite jarred option.
  4. Shredded Mozzarella Cheee: Shredded mozz or an Italian blend offers that stretchy cheese pull that all good pizza has.
  5. Sliced Pepperoni: I find that getting my own natural casing pepperoni and slicing it myself simply tastes better. Skip the pre-sliced stuff if you can!

The Process

To make the loaded pizza dip:

  1. Add olive oil to a medium saute pan set over medium heat. Add chopped green pepper, onion, and garlic. Saute until fragrant and softened, about 3 minutes. Remove from heat as you prepare the remaining ingredients.
  2. Combine cream cheese, greek yogurt, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper in a medium bowl. Use a hand mixer or spatula to completely combine ingredients.
  3. Spread cream cheese mixture on the bottom of a 9 inch pie plate (any oven safe vessel of the same size will work just fine).
  4. Top with sauteed vegetables. Add sliced black olives and shredded mozzarella. Top with pepperoni slices.
  5. Once garlic bread dippers have been removed from the oven, bake the loaded pizza dip for 15 minutes or until the cheese has melted and dip is warmed through.
  6. Top with chopped basil and serve with warm garlic bread dippers!

How To Make Garlic Bread Dippers

For the Garlic Bread Dippers:

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  2. Roll pizza dough out gently and divide into 24 equal portions. I find it easiest to use a pizza cutter and divide the dough into 12 pieces, then slicing those portions in half.
  3. Shape each portion out to resemble a breadstick. These will be shorter and wider than breadsticks, however, so don’t roll them out to be too long: this will impact cooking time if you do!
  4. Arrange dippers on parchment lined baking sheet. Brush with butter mixture and bake for 10 minutes. They should be fragrant and golden brown.
  5. Remove from oven and brush with any remaining butter.
