How To Roast Salmon

Introducing salmon or other fish into your diet is an excellent idea if you’re looking to add healthy fats and lean protein. Roasting the fish is a simple and quick way to try preparing it. The best news is, it couldn’t be easier! Follow these simple steps:

  1. Choose great fish. I purchase fresh fish from my local fish shop. The important thing here is to find a shop or market that you trust. How your fish is handled is critical in ensuring and maintaining proper holding temperatures and food safety.
  2. Season properly. Depending on what flavor profile you’re going for, you can select from a variety of citrus, herbs, fat, and spices. Check out my articles which are linked above to learn more!
  3. Don’t overcook! Overcooked fish is the worst! You want the fish to just be starting to flake before removing it from the oven. This should occur for most fish within 15 minutes in a 375º oven. Of course, however, you should cook to your liking, always keeping food safety and proper cooking temperatures in mind.
