Peanut Buttery Bliss
Who doesn’t love a good peanut butter cookie? Or any nut butter cookie, for that matter?
I would venture to guess that there is a very small subset of people that do not like peanut butter cookies. Can you please show yourself? We need to chat.
Peanut butter cookies have always been one of those humble desserts. I don’t necessarily think to make peanut butter cookies often, as there’s always some bigger or better dessert to make. However, whenever I make them I always think to myself, “Remember to have the ingredients for these cookies on hand ALWAYS”. They’re so tasty, peanutty, and delicious.
My version includes another nutty (or seedy, rather) ingredient to add major roasted flavor. Read on to learn more about my Peanut Butter Tahini Cookies!
Peanut Butter Tahini Cookies
These Peanut Butter Tahini Cookies are so incredibly scrumptious. Tahini is made from ground sesame seeds and has the consistency of natural nut butter. It’s used regularly in savory Middle Eastern dishes and is the key ingredient in hummus. But, if tahini is basically peanut butter’s little sister, it’s gotta be good mixed together, right?
110% right.
You get the roasted, salty, and thick taste from the peanut butter. But what’s that? What’s that nutty…flavor? Tahini, my friend.
Tahini is becoming more widely available. I’ve found it recently at Target! Trader Joe’s carries a great option too, but it includes additional ingredients like garlic and lemon. Probably wouldn’t make the most delicious peanut butter cookie. Be sure to check the ingredients – it should only say ground toasted sesame seeds.
A Must Make!
These Peanut Butter Tahini Cookies are true people pleasers. Even if you don’t think your crew would like the addition of tahini – I implore you to try it! The unique flavor they bring and the tenderness they offer these delectable cookies may be enough to make them your new favorite treat.
