Avocado Toast: Not Just For Millenials

I’d like to kick things off by saying that I resent the fact that avocado toast has gotten a reputation as being a trendy food-thing that Millenials have ruined.

  1. I am a Millenial that loves avocado toast.
  2. Sure fine, it’s trendy.
  3. It’s also delicious, nutritious, and sinfully simple to make.

Now that we got THAT out of the way, let’s dive in to my Everyday Avocado Toast that I eat just about every single day!

How To Make Avocado Toast

Trendy recipes tend to give people heartburn, though not in the literal sense. I would argue that many think they have the to find the “right” or “ultimate” recipe for something as opposed to letting intuition take hold.

Especially when it comes to something as simple as avocado toast! Of course, there are so many different variations for avocado toast (many of which I’ve devoured), but the ingredients below are those that I’ve found to be the perfect flavor combination. I never tire of it!

First things first: how do you make avocado toast? Let’s see if I can break it down into two steps:

  1. Toast your favorite bread. Sourdough, English Muffin, Seeded Loaf, etc. You get the picture – pick your favorite!
  2. Top with avocado. Slice or mash it – it’ll taste the same!

That’s it. The third step is adding whatever toppings you like, however, these are the basics of avocado toast!

What To Put On Avocado Toast

To round out My Everyday Avocado Toast as a meal, I have to have some protein with it. I regularly eat this for breakfast, which means I’m enjoying eggs with my AT.

Here are the components on my version of the Everyday Avocado Toast:

  1. Sriracha: A world without this spicy, tart, ruby-red sauce is a world I don’t want to live in.
  2. Lemon Zest: Sounds like too much work until you try your first bite. So. Much Flavor.
  3. Everything But The Bagel Seasoning: Readily available at various grocers, this seasoning includes big flaky sea salt, poppy seeds, sesame seeds, and dried onion. What you’d find on (you guessed it!) an Everything Bagel!
  4. An Over Medium Egg: I need that saucy yolk, folks. Learn how to make over easy, over medium, and over hard eggs here! Scrmabled more your style? Check out this article.
