Wedge Salad Skewers with Zesty Blue Cheese Dressing

Who doesn’t love a wedge salad?! Crunchy iceberg lettuce is combined with juicy cherry tomatoes, salty and crispy bacon, spicy red onion, and a slightly zippy blue cheese dressing. This recipe takes the classic salad and turns it into an appetizer that everyone will love! Read on to learn more about these tasty skewers!

What Is A Wedge Salad?

A classic wedge salad includes wedges of sliced iceberg lettuce, which are typically halved or quartered, cherry tomatoes, red onion, bacon, and creamy blue cheese dressing. The combination of flavors is perfection. The get the crisp cool delicacy of the iceberg lettuce, the sweet tanginess from the cherry tomatoes, the hint of spice from the red onion, the salty crunch from the bacon, and the creamy and pungent flavor of the blue cheese dressing. 

This salad is eaten with a fork and knife, so I wanted to create a recipe that is seemingly hands free; aside from holding a skewer, I suppose. 

How To Make Wedge Salad Skewers

Here are the ingredients you’ll need:

  • Iceberg lettuce
  • Cherry tomatoes 
  • Red onion 
  • Cooked bacon
  • Crumbled blue cheese

Thread all of the ingredients onto skewers – it’s as easy as that!

How To Make Zesty Blue Cheese Dressing

There is no question: double this recipe and save dit for salads and dipping veggies all week! You won’t regret it!

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 2 T. whole milk
  • 3 oz. crumbled blue cheese
  • 1 tsp. Worcestershire
  • 1/4 tsp. black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1/8 tsp. red pepper flakes

Combine everything in a medium bowl and stir to completely combine. Store in a mason jar or lidded container for up to one week!

Ingredients

For the skewers:

  • Iceberg lettuce
  • Cherry tomatoes halved
  • Red onion sliced into 1/2 inch sections
  • Cooked bacon
  • Crumbled blue cheese

For the zesty blue cheese dressing:

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 2 T. whole milk
  • 3 oz. crumbled blue cheese
  • 1 tsp. Worcestershire
  • 1/4 tsp. black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1/8 tsp. red pepper flakes
  • more if you like spice!

Instructions

  • Slice iceberg lettuce in half. Lay the lettuce head sliced side down, and cut into 1-inch sections. Thread lettuce onto a skewer.
  • Follow with the cherry tomato, red onion, and cooked bacon.
  • Refrigerate until ready to serve.
  • When ready to enjoy, arrange on a platter, drizzle with zesty blue cheese dressing, and sprinkle with crumbled blue cheese.
  • For the zesty blue cheese dressing, mix all ingredients in a medium bowl until completely combined
